The Blueprint

Three pillars that turn a finance function into a system

Architecture, process and automation are one discipline. Separating them is how transformation programmes stall.

01

ERP & Systems Leadership

Owning NetSuite OneWorld end to end — product strategy, architecture, multi-year roadmap, controls and ROI — for a regulated, multi-entity global business. Leading a six-person function, portfolio budget, vendor and systems-integrator governance in direct partnership with the CFO.

  • Multi-year roadmap & design authority
  • SOX-aligned design, ITGC, segregation of duties
  • Licence economics & renewal strategy
  • Zero-downtime financial deployments
02

Finance Systems & Integrations

Quote-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay rebuilt as one structured flow: CPQ through Boomi into Zone Advanced Billing, Advanced Revenue Management and Stripe; intake, commitment and payment consolidated behind a single audit trail that reconciles to the ledger, never the reverse.

  • Record-to-Report & close acceleration
  • ASC 606, multi-entity consolidation, multi-currency
  • Boomi iPaaS, Celigo, REST/SOAP integration patterns
  • Cross-platform reconciliation & master data
03

AI, MCP & Agents

Hands-on across generative AI and LLMs, agents, agentic design patterns and Model Context Protocol connectors — including running open-weight models locally to judge self-hosting trade-offs. Autonomy sequenced by risk, not ambition: autonomous verification, human authorisation, and audit-traceable reasoning on every action.

  • Agents, agentic patterns & tool-use design
  • MCP connectors, RAG & retrieval design
  • Prompt engineering, fine-tuning & evaluation
  • Open-weight local inference & self-hosting trade-offs

Case Studies & Projects

Programmes, priced in outcomes

Each engagement below is set out as Situation, Task, Action, Result — the metric first, the method behind it.

Global Relay · 2026 Quote-to-Cash

Salesforce CPQ to NetSuite ZAB, ARM and Stripe

3 legacy platforms retired in one year

Situation
A regulated global B2B SaaS business ran quoting in a legacy CRM and billing in Certinia, with PSiGate payments and no structured hand-off into the ledger.
Task
Close the CRM-to-ERP gap and govern every downstream invoicing and revenue dependency without breaking the audit trail.
Action
Led the end-to-end programme integrating Salesforce CPQ through Boomi into NetSuite Zone Advanced Billing, Advanced Revenue Management and Stripe; governed two external systems integrators through SIT, UAT, mock bill runs, migration and cutover.
Result
Legacy CRM, Certinia billing and PSiGate retired; first full quarter-close run on the new billing and revenue stack. Recognised with the Quote-to-Cash and Stripe Implementation Leader Award.
Global Relay · 2026 Procure-to-Pay

Zip, Brex and Navan replacing SAP Concur

Two go-lives inside 120 days

Situation
Four front doors for spend: travel booked outside a managed channel, card and expense in Concur, purchase requests by email and ticket, vendor diligence scattered across owners.
Task
Consolidate intake, commitment and spend behind one channel and one audit trail across finance, legal, travel and operations — without a shared dependency between tracks.
Action
Implemented Zip intake-to-procure, Brex cards, Navan travel, DocuSign and Ironclad, integrated to NetSuite through Boomi with approvals kept single-threaded in Zip; ran the Concur decommission and regulatory retention plan.
Result
Delivered in-house and strictly on schedule on two independent tracks; transactions now arrive structured, so exceptions become the only work.
Purple Brand · 2025–2026 ERP & Retail

NetSuite OneWorld across a $100M+ apparel business

90% inventory cycle-time reduction

Situation
A $100M+ revenue global apparel brand operating multi-subsidiary, multi-currency across Canada, the USA and Europe, with email-based fulfilment hand-offs and a failed omnichannel rollout.
Task
Reporting to the CEO, own NetSuite OneWorld across GL, AP, AR, procurement, inventory, SCM and the order lifecycle — and make the integration estate reconcile.
Action
Owned integrations with Shopify (Celigo), Extensiv–WinSys 3PL, NuORDER B2B and Atlas RFID; led a four-phase Centric PLM implementation across product master, BOM/POM and SKU hierarchy; designed proforma, prepaid and deferred revenue handling and automated AR dunning through SuiteFlow.
Result
RFID live-sync cut inventory cycle time by 90% and removed manual fulfilment hand-offs; BOPIS relaunched with a defined P&L ownership matrix, SOP and store training.
Vodafone Qatar · 2015–2021 Digital & Network

National fibre and 5G portfolio, P&L owned

15% OPEX reduction, +7% revenue

Situation
A top-ten global operator carrying legacy home-internet platforms into a national coverage push ahead of FIFA 2022.
Task
Own full portfolio P&L, pricing, business cases (NPV, ROI, IRR) and go-to-market for 4G, 5G and fibre — while standardising the retail and ERP platform estate.
Action
Ran the legacy platform migration and led CRM-to-POS integration and standardisation across 31 corporate stores, 60+ key accounts and 2,000+ mass-market locations.
Result
Coverage past 70% of households, a 30,000+ subscriber base, +7% annual revenue and a 15% OPEX reduction through legacy migration.
Strategy artefact · FY2026–FY2031

The ERP retention case: retain the core, modernise the edges, automate the middle

A five-year Finance and ERP product strategy prepared for the CFO, COO and VP Finance. Both migration paths — Oracle Fusion Cloud and Workday Financial Management — were seriously evaluated and priced honestly, then rejected on cost, risk and fit. The recommendation: retain NetSuite as the core ledger, expand selectively inside the 49% discount window, complete the best-of-breed spend layer, and renew commercially through 2033.

Governed by the Buy-Inside-the-Fence Test: does NetSuite meet 80% of the requirement, is the remaining 20% a control or a convenience, and would we buy this at full price? A 49% discount on shelfware is a 100% loss.

From Sand to Agents: how AI is built and controlled

Start with silicon and follow the chain through compute, training, weights, quantization, the open/closed split, runtime, temperature, prompting, context and caching, MCP — and finish at autonomy, which is a dial, not a thing.

The closing argument: autonomy is set by whoever owns the process, the budget and the accountability — not by the engineer.
